HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Rob Hayes is a registered builder (QBCC) with over 40 years experience in the industry. A true jack of all trades with an immaculate eye for detail, Rob is always looking for a smarter way to work. Busy Bob isn't his first invention, but it's the first taken to market with sheer determination and the support of his family and friends.

THE IDEA

The idea for Busy Bob came to Rob one afternoon as he lay on the couch wondering how he was going to install some very expensive and heavy doors on the current job (pictured left). After many hours in the workshop, the first prototype of Busy Bob was born, as rough as guts, but it worked.

After scouring the internet to try and find if anything like it already existed (and with no results), Rob decided he would go for it and deep dive into the world of launching a product to market!

Fast-forward 8 years: Busy Bob has been through 18 prototype designs (from carbon fibre to the current all-steel build), has 3 patents (UK, AUS, USA) proving it really is one-of-a-kind, and has sold thousands of units all around the world. The feedback we get from our customers makes it all worth while and we love hearing the stories of how Busy Bob is making hanging doors easier and safer.

It's funny but the classic quote of ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ really is true, and we've never looked back!
