FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN BUSY BOB LIFT?

It has a warranty to cover lifting up to 120kg.

HOW HIGH CAN IT LIFT?

It will lift 75mm, but if you need to go higher over a sill or thresh-hold just pack under Busy Bob with a piece of timber or similar.

WHAT ARE THE SPECS?

It's made from zinc plated steel except for the rubber flex drive.

It weighs 2.1kgs and the product is 200mm long x 100mm wide x 130mm high.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM GAP TO FIT IT UNDER A DOOR?

5mm when the plates are closed together, so it complies with smoke and fire door standards.

WHAT ELSE CAN IT DO?

It can also lock the door upwards when lock fitting, and it's great for holding timber while edge planing in its side clamp position.

WHERE IS IT FROM?

Busy Bob was designed by an Aussie builder with over 40 years experience. It's 100% Australian owned and is made in Chongqing, China.

HOW DOES IT LIFT?

Simply insert your cordless drill into the drive shaft and wind it up. Reverse your drill to lower it back down. You can also use a cordless impact driver but just be careful not to over-wind.

DO I NEED TO CHANGE DRIVER BITS TO WIND IT UP?

No, whatever drive bit you use will drive the shaft because it uses the hex part of the driver (not the tip) to do the winding.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OVER THE BAG DESIGNS?

Busy Bob is more precise (lifting in fractions of a millimetre), you don't need to bend down to adjust, it holds the door steady and level, and it's a more robust design overall - it's a lifetime tool.

WHAT DOORS CAN IT LIFT?

All types. Hinged, pivot, sliding, barn, entrance doors, gates as well as glass panels and partitions. Basically, anything you can get Busy Bob under, it'll lift it.

HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY?

24 months manufacturer warranty (covering correct use of the tool).

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE IT?

We also offer a 60 day money-back guarantee if you're not 100% satisfied with our tool - just send it back to us and we will refund the full amount.

WHY DOES IT HAVE THE RUBBER FLEX DRIVE?

This clever design makes it easy to lift the door from an angle, and also absorbs any drive torsion.

DO I NEED TO LUBRICATE IT?

Yes. Occasionally put a few drops of oil on the threaded drive shaft and some grease in the lower drive box to ensure longevity.

IS IT EASY TO USE?

Absolutely. It's about as easy as you can get. From DIY to high-end commercial jobs, our customers love Busy Bob.

DOES IT SAVE TIME & MONEY?

Yes absolutely. For example, if you are a Tradie and have 15 doors to fit on a job and it saves you a couple of hours then it has paid for itself in one job.

IS IT TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?

Best to ask your accountant but generally in Australia (if you have an ABN) you can claim your GST back in your activity statement and then claim the balance as a tax deduction at the end of the financial year. In that case, it's all a total tax write-off.

WHAT NOW?

With our money-back guarantee and 5 star customer rating... it's probably time to give Busy Bob a go.
